High Quality
Gardening Hand Tools

Using the appropriate gardening hand tools can help to make all the difference in the home garden, and is one area where it's most advisable not to compromise on quality.

Virtually all gardeners will agree that obtaining the best tools you can will enable you to become more efficient, and make short work of any job you are likely to come across in the garden.

For small jobs such as planting or composting you will need a number of hand tools and accessories such as spade, fork, rake, trowel, secateurs and wheelbarrow.

These few basic gardening hand tools will take you a long way. For heavier tasks, such as pruning, you will need shears, pruners and possibly loppers and saws.

When added up, buying new can work out costly. Very often you can pick up good second hand bargain or get a good deal on gardening hand tools in a sale.

Even the smallest of gardens can be made into a special place, and it doesn't have to be all hard work.

A little careful planning before hand will ensure you have an amazing show of color throughout the growing season, or fresh and pesticide free fruit and vegetables at the dinner table, which taste far better than anything you can purchase from the local store, have no additives and are far more nutritious.

Protect Your Hands...

It is also a good idea to use gardening gloves which will protect your hands from blisters, thorns and cuts while doing rough work like digging or pruning in the garden, there's nothing more painful than a thorn in between your finger nail.

It is also possible to pick up a few nasty bacteria such as cellulitis which can turn into a serious infection if not seen to. (This happened to me and put me in hospital for a week, taking anti-biotics through a vein)

A recent study...

has shown that gardening is effective in reducing stress due to its calming effect, this is relevant to any age group. You can forget about your stressful work life for a while and be soothed by the marvelous ambience in your garden.

What does that mean for you?...

Well, for a start it means you can spend more quality time with your family. You can talk while watering the plants or you can work quietly beside each other. The bottom line is, always do what you have to do, together with your family.
